I worked as a nurse for Dr Michael Zanone at Med Emergency in East Memphis during the mid to late 1980´s. With a likable demeanor, he was a caring and capable professional. He respected all patients and he saved many without regard to their socioeconomic circumstances. He had a real love for family and often spoke of them fondly while at work. Always the physician, and a natural born teacher, I learned so much from him. I am sorry to know of his passing, but because I know he was a religious man, he no doubt will be held in comfort in the arms of The Father until he rises in glory.

I started working for Dr. Zanone in 1987 at Med Emergency when I was 19 years old. We lost touch while I was in the military, but I found him again and we kept in touch. He was a great physician, mentor, boss and friend.

I worked with Mike in the ER at Baptist East. He was a truly great physician and somewhat of a prankster.

Mike and I were good friends in the Grove Park Rd. neighborhood. My dad typically drove us both to school at CBHS on his way to work. Also,Mike was a groomsman in my wedding in 1966. After that we went off to separate universities, Mike to study medicine at UT and myself to study architecture at Arkansas and Michigan. Unfortunately, we did not stay in touch over the years. My condolences to his family and friends.

Dr. Zanone helped develop and over see the EMS program for the Germantown Fire Department. He was a valued asset in the formation of the program.
