Richard Kohn Obituary

Richard Lewis Kohn was born on May 9th,1934 in St. Louis, Missouri.

After attending the University of Missouri, he was drafted into the United States Army. He was stationed at Fort Rucker in Alabama for two years.

After being honorably discharged, he returned to Hayti, Missouri where he worked alongside his father in the family store.

In addition to the store, Richard served his community for over 40 years as Chairman of the Hayti Housing Authority. He was Past President of the Hayti Rotary Club and Past Master of Hayti Masonic Lodge #571.

He is survived by his three nephews, Jay Greenberg (Phyllis), Barry Greenberg(Sharon), & David Greenberg(Dory) and many Great Nephews and Nieces.

A Graveside Service will be held at Beth Sholom Memorial Gardens, Tuesday August 19, 2025 at 11:00 AM.

Richard was a fine man that I have personally known for over 60 years. A true gentleman in every way. From racing go karts in the early 1960s to serving with him as a Rotarian in the 2000s his word was his bond.
