Robert Rainey Obituary

Robert retired from Roadway Express after 26 years of driving over the road. Known to fellow drivers as Double R. He worked at Walmart in Tire and Lube service at a technician following his retirement for approximately 10 years.

He loved old vintage cars and working on his 64 Chevy II Nova. He also loved his dog named Nova. While in garage enjoying his car, he would listen to country music that the neighbors could also hear. He enjoyed watching old western movies and TV shows.

Robert is survived by his wife Sandi Rainey of 52 years of marriage; Daughter, Angelia Baxter, Son, Brian Rainey (Elizabeth); Grandchildren, Crystal Simpson (Cody), Brandon Baxter, Cameron Baxter (Quinte), Anthony Rainey, Alyssa Rainey, Abel Rainey; Great Grandchildren, Hudson Simpson, Haylee Johnson, Emery Simpson, Hazel Johnson, and his Sister, Kathy Ellis. Robert was preceded in death by his Daughter, Dawn Rainey, Grandson, Dallas Simmons; and his Mother, Dorothy Moore.

A visitation for Robert will be held Friday, May 17, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 North Germantown Parkway, Bartlett, TN 38133, followed by a celebration of life from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
