Stephen Christian Schedler, age 68, of Whiteville, Tennessee, departed this life on Friday, September 26, 2025, at Bolivar General Hospital in Bolivar, Tennessee. Steve was born on May 22, 1957, in Springfield, Illinois, the son of Victor Schedler and Carol Ducker Schedler.
Steve graduated Valedictorian from Bauxite High School in May 1975. He went on to attend Arkansas State University, where he served as President of Sigma Pi Fraternity. In 1998, he graduated with honors from Christian Brothers University, earning his Bachelor of Science in Information Systems Management. In 2022, he was inducted into the CBU Legacy Society.
Throughout his career, Steve worked in Management Information Systems, serving as a valuable member of the Sara Lee Corporation (Jimmy Dean) and Varsity Spirit, the company from which he retired. He was a faithful member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Memphis, Tennessee. In his free time, Steve loved spending time outdoors with his family. He enjoyed all things aviation, woodworking, WWII history, and tending to his prized Chevy Corvette. On Saturdays, he cheered for the Arkansas Razorbacks and Tennessee Volunteers. On Sundays, he championed the Green Bay Packers, passing his love for the team—and the game—on to his son Jason. Steve taught himself to play the guitar and enjoyed learning his favorite songs. He started a Guitar Club with family members from all over the country and cherished the fellowship and camaraderie that music brought to his life. He could often be found picking a tune and singing in his garage at his home in Whiteville—a home he quite literally built himself. He was immensely proud of it and loved showing off his latest projects to friends and family who came to visit.
He is survived by his wife, Amy Denise Belcher of Whiteville, Tennessee. His parents, Victor and Carol Ducker Schedler. His four sons, Jason (Lauren) Schedler, Chris (Janis) Belcher, Stephen Belcher, and Shane (Kristen) Gullick. His three sisters, Victoria Maness, Cari Wright, and Nan Bloomfield and one brother, David Schedler. He had two grandchildren, Isabella Belcher and Ella Schedler. And a large extended family of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
