Pamela Good Molfetta

Pamela Storm McConnell Good Molfetta of Newport Beach, California was taken from us unexpectedly in a car accident on November 13 while traveling to attend her grandson's wedding in Florida. She was 81.

Born in New York City in 1944, she was raised in Illinois and graduated from Finch Women's College in Manhattan. Pamela married Albert Schwabe of West Virginia and later Romano Molfetta, with whom she made southern California home for more than 40 years. They owned and operated Mezzaluna, a popular restaurant in Corona Del Mar. She was known for her legendary Rum Cake, Beer Can Chicken, and scrumptious pork chops.

Even more legendary was her ability to make you laugh. Her sense of humor belied her soft spoken demeanor. She loved to be with family and friends and she cherished her time at the ranch in Wyoming where she went for the last 50+ years. She made sure every year to combine those two loves by bringing family to the ranch so she had her favorite things in the same place at once. She taught us how to live, by how she lived. Understated, generous, and always ready to make you laugh. She insisted with a twinkle in her eye that her grandchildren called her Strega, a woman with mystical powers she would say as she teased them when they were young. In the end she truly did have the power to make people feel good, laugh, come together and enjoy life. She will be missed beyond description by anyone who was lucky enough to call her friend or family.

Pammy/Mom/Strega is survived by her sisters Tina and Tory, her children Cas, John, Robbie, and Michael, her grandchildren Katrina, Allison, Matteo, Olivia, Christian, and Dominic and her great-grandchildren Nora and Nolan.

Celebrations of her life will be held at Balboa Saloon in Newport Beach and The HF Bar Ranch in Wyoming at dates to be determined. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Barks of Love or FONBAS, two of Pamela's favorite animal rescue organizations.
