Judy Boring Obituary

Judy Miller Boring, April 30, 1931 - April 16, 2024, of Athens passed away at her home at the age of 92. She was the daughter of the late Roy W. Elsea and Mary Ethel Pannell Elsea of Blountville. She was the wife of the late Billy L. Miller and Col. Landin F. Boring. She was preceded in death by her parents and three siblings, two brothers and one sister. Survivors are Robin Miller Housley and spouse, Gale Housley; two grandchildren, Halen L. Housley and spouse, Candace Housley, and Honna L. Housley Mincey and spouse, Ryan Mincey; four great-grandchildren, Camille and Max Housley, and Andi and Davi Mincey; and loved one, Willie Coleman. She achieved a BS degree from UTK in Home Economics and a Masters in Textile and Clothing. Her teaching career spanned over 40 years at Niota School, McMinn County High School and Athens Junior High. She loved designing and sewing clothing. Flower gardening was a favorite past time. She was a lifelong member of Trinity United Methodist Church. Donations may be made to the church in her memory. A private burial will be in McMinn Memory Gardens. Special thanks to her two caregivers, Holly Riggins and Maggie Shaw. Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home of Athens is in charge of arrangements.
