Died: August 20, 2025

Marvin Tipton 85, of Etowah, TN passed away Wednesday, August 20, 2025.

Marvin was a Christian of the Baptist faith and served in the Army National Guard. He owned and operated Tipton Furniture in Etowah for over 20 years and retired from Bowater. Marvin loved farming and enjoyed living his life one day at a time.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Willie Tipton; siblings, Jimmy R. Tipton, Joan Tipton Smith, Evelyn Tipton Rowland and Billy Allen Tipton.

Survivors include his sons and daughters-in-law, C. Mike and Laura Tipton, Greg and Norman Tipton; daughter and son-in-law, Tracey and Gene Hicks; grandchildren and spouses, Brandi and Jeff Darnell, Nathan Tipton, Amanda and Nathan Bartell, Travis and Rhonda Tipton, Tyler Culberson, Katelyn Hicks; great-grandchildren, Landyn Defriece, Maddux Bartell, Morgan Bartell, Madison Bartell, Charleigh Tipton, MaKenna Tipton,

Funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Monday, August 25th in the chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday prior to the service.

Family and friends will assemble at Green Hill Cemetery Tuesday, August 26th at 11:00 a.m. for the committal service.
