Nancy Sue Brite Perdue passed away peacefully on February 19 at Willow Acres Assisted Living surrounded by love.
Born on September 20, 1946, in Springfield, MO, Nancy live a life marked with kindness, a generous heart and a beautiful smile. Throughout her life, she dedicated her time and talents to serving her Lord and Savior, her family and her community leaving a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Nancy is preceded in death by her parents Ret. Lieutenant Colonel Byron Brite and Gladys Brite and John Perdue, Sr.
She is survived by her son John Perdue, Jr. (Pam) and daughter Sue (Brad) Lott, her grandchildren Alex and Jack Perdue and Phoebe Lott and nieces and great nieces and nephews.
Nancy found joy in the simple moments: singing in the church choir, planting beautiful flowers, playing with her dog Lily and serving her community. She was the Director of the McMinn Education Foundation and was involved in community groups like the Garden Club and Alter Guild. She cherished time spent with loved ones. Nancy's (Mimi) legacy is love and compassion.
The family wishes to thank Willow Acres for all their love and support.
A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2026, 12:30pm, at Smith Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home from 11am - 12:30pm prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to either McMinn Education Foundation, P.O. Box 2, Athens, TN 37371 or Tri County Center, P.O. Box 793, Athens, TN 37371.
