Alberta Mae Young Boyd

TEMPLE HILLS, MD. - Alberta Mae Young Boyd was born on April 4, 1938, and expired on Sunday, Aug. 27, 2006, in Temple Hills, Md. She was the daughter of Robert Luther Young Sr. and Catherine Brown Young of Newport News, Va. She is succeeded in life by the following members of her family: Ellis Ray Boyd, Catherine Brown Young, Mabili Baraka Akinyele, Osei Thabitu Akinyele, Robert L. Young Jr., Anna Young, Robert Emery Young, Leilani Young, Emery Rey Young, Alicia Young, Jerome Young Sr., Theresa Young, Jerome Young Jr., Catherine Horne, Edward L. Horne Sr., Edward L. Horne Jr., Tamika Luster, Terrell Luster, Terrell Luster II, Taji Luster, Harriet White, Lee White, Noelle White, Minerva Douglas, Walter Douglas, Vondrena Martino, Ralph Martino, Olivia Martino, Elizabeth Martino and Ralph Martino II. A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 5, at Gethsemane Baptist Church, 3509 Chestnut Ave., Newport News, with Bishop Alfonzo Poston officiating. Interment will follow at Hampton Memorial Gardens, Hampton. Viewing will be from 2 to 5 p.m. followed with a wake until 6 p.m. Monday, Sept. 4, at the funeral home. Family and friends are asked to assemble by 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the national diabetic and renal (kidney) foundations.
