Evelyn Wilson Obituary

ALEXANDRIA - Evelyn H. "Betsy" Wilson, 87, died Tuesday, March 19, 2002. A native of Delano, Fla., she had been a longtime resident of Hampton before moving to Alexandria to live with her daughter, where she was an active member of Paul Spring Retirement Community and took part in various activities. Mrs. Wilson received her nurse's training from the St. Joseph Catholic Hospital in Atlanta, Ga., and retired from the Hampton VA Medical Center, after 33 years as a registered nurse. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Ladies' Auxiliary of the Elks Lodge No. 366, Hampton. Preceded in death by her husband, Raymond E. Wilson, survivors include her daughter, Barbara Ann Houston of Alexandria; her niece, Jo Ann Parrott of Roanoke Rapids, N.C.; and her nephew, Don Houston of Rensselaer, N.Y. Interment will take place at 10 a.m. Monday, March 25, in the Phoebus Section of Hampton National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Elks Lodge Youth Camp Fund, 95 Tidemill Lane, Hampton, VA 23666. Arrangements by Berceuse Funeral and Cremation Traditions.

Betsy was a wonderful, supportive friend. She was always laughing. You never had to ask her what was on her mind, or what she thought of something -- she always told you how she thought it! I miss her very much.
