Georgina C. Milliken

WILLIAMSBURG - Georgina Chappelear Milliken, 87, died March 30, 2009.
Georgina was a member of Abingdon Episcopal Church while living in Gloucester and was an active member of Bruton Parish Church after moving to Williamsburg. As a resident of Gloucester for 31 years, she was a member of the York River Circle of the King's Daughters, a master gardener, and was employed as a management analyst at Fort Monroe. Her husband, William Stewart Milliken, Sr.; daughter, Georgina M. Harris; grandson, William S. Harris; parents, George and Nannie Chappelear, and sister, Nancy Chappelear Baird, preceded her in death.
Survivors include daughter, Nancy M. McAvoy and husband, Jack; son, William S. Milliken, Jr., and wife, Cindy; three grandchildren, Anne Harris Dalphin, W. Stewart Milliken III and Barrett Binford Milliken; and son-in-Law, William B. Harris.
A memorial service, officiated by the Rev. Geoffrey Price, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 3, at Abingdon Episcopal Church, 4625 George Washington Memorial Highway, Gloucester. Inurnment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends in the church parish hall following the inurnment.
