James Ruffin Obituary
He is the son of James Oliver Ruffin Sr. and Phyllis Gay Ruffin. He was educated in the public school system. He was affectionately known as P.J. and was an excellent rider and trainer.
Survivors other than his parents include two brothers, Roderick Ruffin of Wakefield, Va., and Marty Ruffin, and a host of relatives and friends.
In celebration of his life, service will be held at noon Saturday, Sept. 22, at First Baptist Church in Wakefield, Va. Interment will follow in Booker T. Memorial Cemetery, Wakefield, Va. Viewing will be held at the church from 10 a.m. until noon Saturday.
Arrangements by Shivers Funeral Chapel, Smithfield.
