We met Kay,Karel and their family almost 10 yrs. ago via Kay's job. We've kept in touch thru the years even though we no longer work together. A trip to Wlbg. every few months to update them on our kids and a memorable visit. I will miss walking in and seeing Karel in his usual "corner" spot of the couch and a sport on the t.v. set. My heart and prayers go out everyday for Kay and their entire family. He will truly be missed. We were blessed to have known such a great person.

I was greatly saddened to read of Karel's passing. We go 'way back... back to Mrs. Wilson's first grade class at Fairview School in 1961. We lost touch after high school but I am glad to hear that he did well. My sympathy to his friends and family.

Karel was one of the very first people I met at Jefferson Lab almost 2 years ago. Immediately a friendship was formed. Every morning at the 8am meeting, he would stand right at my office door (as the door is in the back of the meeting room). There wasn't a day that passed that Karel was standing there that "hello, how are you doing today" wasn't said. Many days he would stop in my office after the meeting and chat. We always chatted about our families...I will truly miss that! I was new to the area, and it was from Karel that I learned about this area. He was one of the very nicest, genuine, and friendly persons I've ever been around. I cannot walk into my office now each day without thinking of him and telling my friend hello! Sadly I will not get the opportunity to work with him regularly as would've been the case with the reorganization at work. I pray that God gives his family strength and love today and forever! May God Bless each of you...I will continue to pray for you each day. I know Karel has found peace and love in God's arms! I'll miss you my friend!

Karel was my friend. I worked with him back in 1993 and developed a friendship with him. Although I did not see him as often in the last year whenever we did talk it was as if no time had past. I will miss him as a friend and as one who became like a brother. I give my deepest sympathies to Kay and his children of whom we often talked. He was very proud of them. I am glad to know him and will miss him.

Karel, in this life was a gentelman and a friend and I will never forget his generosity and his willingness to help anyone. We laughed and commiserated together, and genuinely enjoyed our projects together. I still see his smile and the inside jokes we had to share since we had been at the lab since '89. GOD BLESS your family. I know that they will honor your spirit and move to the next step, regardless how hard it will be. You have instilled your "can do" spirit and work ethic into them. Peace...........
