Larry Thomas Fleming Sr.

Larry Thomas Fleming, Sr. of Newport News went home with the Lord at the young age of 62 on Thursday, March 10, 2022. Larry was a native of Clarksburg, West Virginia. There he was active in boy scouts which meant a lot to him as his dad was the Scout Leader. He attended high school at Liberty High School where he loved to speak of his football years. Larry was always a dedicated hard working man. He began at the young age of 11 delivering newspapers. He later started as a cashier at Dairy Mart working his way up to be a manager at 17. He was a volunteer at Harrison County EMS & served as a 911 dispatcher for 2 years. He then found his career as a car salesman which he was passionate about as it allowed him to help people. His career in car sales began in the late 1980s at Harry Green Chevrolet and then before moving to Newport News he finished his career at Ballard Chevrolet. Upon arriving in Newport News he began his career with Hutchens Chevrolet and then became a family member of the Priority Chevrolet Team. Larry was a devoted husband, father, Papaw/ P-Pap, and friend with a smile that made everyone's day. He enjoyed telling stories and playing pranks on his loved ones. He was a man who showed faith no matter what circumstances were presented in a situation. Larry is survived by his wife, Leeanna Fleming, their children Larry "TJ" and Amanda Fleming, Joshua Fleming, Britni Fleming, Jared and Hannah Lilly, Emerald and Joel Hatfield, Isaiah Lilly, Grandchildren Adam Fleming, McKenna Lilly, Abigail Lilly, Judah Lilly, Zane Hatfield, siblings, Jimmy Fleming, Mary Leary, Brian Fleming as well as numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Wednesday, March 16, 2022, at World Outreach Worship Center, 1233 Shields Road, Newport News, VA 23608 from 2:00 until 3:00 pm. Service will begin at 3:00 pm officiated by Pastor Russell Evenson. Interment will be private. In memory of our loved one, memorial contributions may be made to World Outreach Worship Center, 1233 Shields Road, Newport News, VA 23608, or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude's Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105.
