Marion Beasley Obituary
Yorktown, Va. - Marion Janette Beasley, 90, passed away on Thursday Morning June 13, 2019. Marion was born in Newport News and was a lifelong York County resident. She was the first nurse employed by York County Public Schools and retired in 1990 from York high School. She was a member of the Hampton Roads Seven Day Adventist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years Gouldin Beasley, Jr and is survived by her daughter, Patricia (Pat) Rachita (Vasile) of Yorktown and a son Wayne Beasley (Sophia) of Rocky Mount, NC a brother Edgar John Brock, Jr. of Charlottesville and a sister Marie Haas of Suffolk, and 3 grandchildren, Curtis Wayne Beasley, Emily Beasley Poe (Eric) and Mirela Rachita and 3 great-grandchildren Charlotte, Blaine and Cade Poe.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, June 17, 2019 in Amory Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Grafton Christian Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

I was so sorry to hear of Mrs. Beasleys passing.. We moved door when my boys were very young and they though of her as another grandma. She was always there for all of us and will be remembered as a sweet and loving lady.

Some times while at York High School, I would stop by the nurse' clinic, not because I was sick but just because I wanted to say Hi to nurse Beasley who always brighten my day with her warm smile and words of encouragement. What a beautiful service today for Mrs. B, a beloved member of our neighborhood and community. She has been part of my life as far back as I can remember and I'm keeping each of her loved ones in my prayers.

Mrs. B, I have looked to find you over the years. I am so sorry I never was able to. I hope you know how much of a great influence you were in my life. I know for a fact you treated us all as if we were your own kids. I'll always treasure the love you gave me! Rest easy in heavens hands, sweet angel you've earned your wings! When I was in high school I was the nurse's aide I spent more time in the clinic then I think I did in class helping this beastly when flu season came around she would come get me because I was one of the few people that could read a thermometer and I always enjoy spending time with her she was a wise wonderful woman sometimes the kids get into the clinic just to get advice from her she knew when they were faking she knew when they were really sick but either way she made them feel comfortable she had a heart as big as the whole Earth she was one woman I will never ever forget as long as I live I will be praying for her family I know where she's going because she was such a good soul I will see her again one day may God bless you. I was so influenced by Mrs. Beasley's warm hugs when I was young, her soft curly hair always in my memories, I have such wonderful memories of being in your home and knowing she was mother Beasley.
