At meet Steve in middle school at Robinson Secondary School in Fairfax VA in the late 1970's. He was, without a doubt, my best friend at Robinson. We even double dated at our senior prom. He was very smart and hard working. He was one of the class Valedictorians for our HS class which had over 740 students. We both went to UVA where I was introduced to a couple of guys (Jim and Carl) from Courtney dorm that I am still friends with today. I was very sad to learn of his passing.

My heart goes out to the family of Dr. Heimann ---- I had the honor of working with him for over 10 years. His ability to talk with patients .... understand their problems and assist in their overall treatment was top of the line. As a mental health therapist, I learned so much under his leadership. Most importantly, I saw him be a mentor/coach to so many of the staff who provided daily treatment to very damaged children. He made a big difference to so many and will be sorely missed by all.

I am so saddened by the loss of Dr. Heimann. He was so gracious, kind, thoughtful and ever so compassionate. Dr. Heimann worked tirelessly and gave endlessly to the children, adolescents, and families who were part of the Hampton Newport News Community Services Board. Thank you Dr. Heimann for so many wonderful years. It was an honor and a privilege to have known you and worked with you.

I extend my deepest condolences to the family of Dr. Heimann. I worked with Dr. Heimann for several years and he was the best of the best. His legacy will live on with the countless number of children and families he helped over the years. You will be missed by so many Dr. Heimann and I was honored to have known you
