Willie Logan

HAMPTON - A precious one has gone from us, a voice we loved is stilled, a place is vacant in our home which never can be filled. On Oct. 25, 2005, the death Angel visited Mrs. Willie Logan in the Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, in Norfolk, Va. and took away our beloved mother, sister, and aunt. She was born to the late Mr. Robert and Alberta Hicks on April 6, 1929. She was joined in Holy Matrimony to the late Mr. John David Logan. She was a member of True Mount Zion Church for 29 years, under the leadership of Pastor Beulah Dickerson until her passing in June of 2005. Pastor Annette Dickerson currently serves as Pastor. She was church mother, president of the Usher Board, Adult Choir, and president of the Pastors Aide. She was also a part of the Foster Grandparent Program. She leaves to cherish her memory one daughter, Catherine 'Sis' Royster of the home; four sons, John Logan Jr. of Great Falls, Mo., Michael Logan (Sharon) and Alvin Logan of Hampton, Va. and Richard Logan of Alexandria, Va.; two sisters, Evangelist Catherine Higgs of Newport News, Va., Louise Finley of Buffalo, N.Y.; one brother, Louis Hicks of Newport News; ten grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three brothers-in-law, Mr. Junior Logan, Mr. Moses Wright and Mr. Noel Wright of Java, Va.; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. Your Memory will be a keepsake from which we shall never part, although God has you in his safe keeping, we still have you in our hearts. The Family Viewing will be held 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 30, at Cooke Bros. Funeral Chapel. A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 31, at the funeral home.
