Frances Middleton Obituary

250 West Main Street, Orange, Va.

Frances Ann Middleton, 81, of Orange, Virginia, passed away in the comfort of her home on January 26, 2024. Born to the late Rosa Gallihugh Hartman in Washington, D.C., on January 9, 1943, she was a beloved wife, mother, grandma, nanny, and Christian—a faithful woman who loved the Lord, her family, and her church. Frances is survived by her husband of 63 years, Herbert Cecil Middleton, Jr.; a daughter, Wanda Middleton Yancey; three grandchildren: Michael [Christy], Rebecca, and William; two greatgrandchildren: Courtney and Chadwick; Bucky, who remained close and supportive, holding a special place in her eyes; and numerous aunts and uncles. A graveside service will be held at North Pamunkey Baptist Church on Wednesday, January 31, 2024, at 11 a.m., with Pastor Tim Jarrell officiating. Immediately following, family and friends will celebrate Frances’ life at the Burrus Fellowship Hall. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice of the Piedmont (675 Peter Jefferson Parkway, Suite 300, Charlottesville, VA 22911) or North Pamunkey Baptist Church (15109 Pamunkey Lane, Orange, VA 22960).
