Arthur Walker Obituary
December 20, 1958 - January 21, 2021
Arthur William Walker, A.K.A. "Bun", 62, of Charlottesville, Virginia, departed this life on Thursday, January 21, 2021. He was born in Charlottesville, Virginia, on December 20, 1958, to Marie and the late Edward Scott.
Arthur graduated from Charlottesville High School in 1977 and was well known the Culinary Arts and restaurant scene. He worked alongside his brother at Mel's Café where he met and made lifelong friends.
He leaves to cherish his precious memories two loving and devoted daughters, Kebrina Bolling and her husband, Shaun Gilchrist, of N.C., and Glenda "Sada" Bolling of Charlottesville, Va.; one grandson, Elijah Bolling who loved and adored his Papa.; the apple of his eye, Vizena Howard and three bonus daughters, Juanika, Zeneida, and Teletha Howard; five bonus grandchildren, Zyahna, Tamarius, Zaneyah, Zeniah and Trenton; six siblings, Melvin Walker of Charlottesville, Glenda Walker of N.Y., Joyce "Honey Ann" Walker and Greg (Kim) Walker of Richmond, Va., Mike "Brick" Walker of Charlottesville, and Theresa Rawlings and husband, Calvin, of Charlottesville; two aunts, Josephine Morrison and Louise Taylor of Charlottesville, Va.; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and neighbors; friends who will miss him dearly; and a special friend and brother in Christ, Tony Garland.
Walk-through viewing will be held from 2 until 6 p.m. on Saturday, January 30, 2021, at the J. F. Bell Funeral Home Chapel.
A funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, January 31, 2021, at The Point Church, 155 Hansen Rd., Charlottesville, Va.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the nursing staff and doctors at UVA Health System and the Hospice of the Piedmont for their good care of Arthur.

So sorry for your loss ,I know Arthur was a special brother and friend at Mel's Diner. He will be missed by his family and especially his brother, Mel ,who was his constant companion in work and life.

It saddened me so to see that Arthur had passed. I knew Arthur from his time as a young man working with my dad at Ol'Virginia Fried Chicken and with my buddy Marie. . Over the years we kept up with each other at Mel's, can still hear him call me "Boo". He was a great person, full of laughs and touched many peoples lives. He will be dearly missed. My heart goes out to all of his family and friends!

I was very sorry to see that Arthur passed away. You may not remember me, but I worked with Marie and Melvin at the Virginian in the early 1970's. On more than one occasion I was invited to their home for an evening of great music and great food. As the only "white boy" in the group, I have great memories of those times and those friendships. Please know that my wife Jill, who also worked with them, and I are sorry for your loss and our thoughts are with your family.
