Brian Dean Leathers, 57, of New Canton, Va. died on Saturday May 12, 2018, at his home. He was proceeded in death by his father, Robert Howard Leathers Jr., and his older brother, Robert Howard Leathers III. He is survived by his loving wife, Janice Diane Leathers; his mother, Marilyn Kay Leathers; his younger brother, Brett James Leathers; his two daughters, Chrystal Lee Shumaker married to Joseph Earnest Shumaker III with their son, Joseph Earnest Shumaker IV, and Nicole Lynn Leathers married to Jeffrey Scott Beeby Jr. Brian grew up in Dewitt, Mich. with his loving parents and two brothers. After graduating High School, Brian enlisted in the U.S. Army and served his country for 15 years. While stationed overseas he met his loving wife and told everyone, "it was love at first sight." Brian and Janice were blessed with two beautiful daughters before moving to New Canton. Once in New Canton, Brian started working in the food service industry and attended the Mizpah Christian Church. Though Brian has moved on, he leaves cherished memories to both friends and family alike. A memorial will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 16, 2018, at Mizpah Christian Church, Goochland, Virginia.
