Bruce Harris Obituary
He is survived by his wife Lockie S. Harris, son William N. Harris of Kill Devil Hills, and siblings Cindy H. Beazell (Perry) and Greg E. Harris (Ann).
Bruce graduated from the University of Virginia with a BA in Mathematics and worked forty plus years as Procurement and Operations Manager for the Virginia Workers Compensation Commission in Richmond, VA. Bruce and Lockie loved the beach so much that they moved to Manteo after retiring. His favorite ways to pass time were relaxing with Lockie, listening to music, strumming a guitar with his good friend Lee Sullins, rooting for the UVA football and basketball teams, cooking delicious meals on his grill, and walking his beagle.
A celebration of Bruce's life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 10, 2025, at Twiford Funeral Homes, Outer Banks Chapel, followed by a gathering for lunch at Blue Water at Pirate's Cove, 2000 Sailfish Drive, Manteo, NC 27954.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to American Liver Foundation at https://liverfoundation.org/, or to the charity of your choice. In memory of Bruce, giving blood is also an option.
