Daniel Maupin Obituary
March 1, 1945 - February 20, 2022
Daniel A. Maupin, 76, departed this life on Sunday, February 20, 2022, at the home of his sister and brother-in-law, Novella and Steven Thomas. He was born on March 1, 1945, to the late David and Josephine Maupin.
Daniel was also preceded in death by his first wife, Margaret of 36 years; two sisters, Emily Maupin and Deloise Catoe; two brothers, James Powell and David Maupin.
He leaves behind his wife, Lorraine Maupin.
Dan was a veteran of the United States Army. He was employed by Murray Manufacturing Corp., later Cooper Crouse Hinds for 20 years until the company moved to Georgia. Additionally he worked at Jaunt and Albemarle County before retiring. He enjoyed working on cars, attending car shows, playing pool with JaLyn, riding shotgun with Shakee on long drives, and spending time with family and all of his grandkids, which he treasured.
He also leaves behind his son, Keith A. Maupin of Troy, Va.; his daughter, MarLita D. Maupin-King of Unionville, Va.; three grandchildren, Shakee Maupin (Amanda), JaLyn King, and Kiara Tanner-Maupin; two great-granddaughters, Kalani Maupin and Madelyn Woodson; two brothers, Charles Maupin of Fluvanna Co., and Calvin Maupin of Charlottesville, Va.; three sisters, JoAnn Maupin (George) of Ruckersville, Va., Novella Thomas (Steven) of Charlottesville, Va., and Marion Thompson of Charlottesville, Va.; a devoted cousin, John Jackson of Fork Union, Va.; a host of nieces and nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. on Friday, March 4, 2022, at Evergreen Baptist Church, Earlysville Road, with the Reverend Stanley Woodfolk, officiating. Interment will follow at Holly Memorial Gardens. Walk-through viewing will be held from 12 until 6 p.m. on Thursday, March 3, 2022, at J. F. Bell Funeral Home Chapel.
