David Buck Obituary

David B. Buck, 68, of Fluvanna County, VA, passed away on November 6, 2023. Born and raised in Charlottesville, VA, he later moved to Fluvanna where he had family ties, building the home he shared with his wife Pat and son David. Pat and Dave met in high school and celebrated their 49th anniversary this summer. Dave had careers in insurance sales as well as building/carpentry, the latter for which he had a keen mind and a natural talent. An avid outdoorsman and hunter, he especially enjoyed listening to his beagles on a chase in the woods. His family is grateful for the innumerable friends in the hunting community as well as other good friends who have been so kind and helpful. Dave loved sports from a young age, especially baseball, whether playing, coaching, or umpiring. If asked who he was rooting for in a game of any sport the answer was always the team that is behind.

Dave is survived by his loving wife Pat, his son David (Brian Gilbert) of Jupiter, Florida; his sister, Alison Waite (John) of Mississippi and son, Jason Beach (Jonathan Bugeja) of Georgia; his sisters-in-law, Ellen Vieth (Paul), Robin Bingler (Kara and son, Maverick; Eric), Glenda Thomas (Tim and daughter Brianne); his aunts and uncles, including Lillie Bishop and son Jimmy; David C. Buck and daughter Beth Brockwell (Troy); his first cousins: Virginia Edwards (Arthur), Michael Perkins (Connie), Herbert Moore (Nancy Cooley), Jerry Ann Herron (Alex), Stephanie Bickers, Cary D. Buck (Marie), Larry Buck (Joyce) and a host of other cousins, family, and friends.

Preceding him in death are his parents Cary and Elnor Buck, his aunts Dorothy Brookman (Harold), Dora Lee Perkins (James), Lois Dollens (Jerry), and Bernice Bickers (James and daughter Victoria Howard). Uncles include A.B. Bishop and Paul Buck (Phyllis).

The family will have a memorial visitation on Saturday, December 9 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at Sheridan Funeral Home, 4626 Cedar Lane Road, Kents Store, Virginia.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice in Dave's memory. A kind or helpful action in his memory is also appreciated.
