Emmett Carson Obituary

Emmett Glenmore Carson, 89, of Charlottesville, died Friday, February 29, 2008, at the Hospice House.

Born March 12, 1918, in Appomattox County, Virginia, he was the son of the late Emmett G. Carson and Mattie Wooldridge Carson. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Wylene S. Carson.

Emmett formerly served in the United States Navy, and retired from Frank Ix and Sons.

He is survived by a daughter, Betty Sampson of Colfax, North Carolina.

A graveside funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Monday, March 3, 2008, at Monticello Memory Gardens with the Reverend Sidney Craig officiating.

The family and friends of Emmett Carson thanks Dr. Gordon Morris and the physicians, nurses, and staff of both the Martha Jefferson Hospital and the Hospice House for their care.
