What a wonderful man one can´t go down the little road in Palmyra Va that grew up in Fluvanna County and not remember his office right down from the Courthouse. I can remember Three Attorneys my Mother Ann worked for George Smith and as an adolescent remember visiting with Bosley, Frank Gallo and the Clerks up at the Clerks office A lot of memories when I couldn´t even look over the counter and pull myself up to say Hi! Evelyn Watts, Linda Lenherr, Elsie Faris, Roxanne Tryall and Bosely Crowther before returning to my mothers office where George Smith and Frank Gallo shared and office he will be missed a true staple of Fluvanna County and my childhood..

So long, Bos. We crossed paths intermittently due to a random pattern of shared interests; my life was enriched by our contacts. You were genial, bemused, quizzical, courtly, and chronically rumpled. A wise man, knowledgeable about the world and its inhabitants. I will miss you.

I am so glad I got to know this wonderful man, even though it was only for the last three years of his life.
A group of us would gather in the lobby at University Village for a glass of wine before dinner, and Bos would tell stories and sing songs. He was the life of the party until he could no longer come down to the lobby, and then we missed him terribly. He knew all the good old songs that I knew, plus a few I had never heard before, and he usually made his exit singing "So long, it's been to know ya." What a great guy!

I will always remember Bosley for hand delivering a single rose to every lady in the village of Palmyra on Valentine´s Day.

To the family of Bosley Crowther - I am so sorry for your loss. I first met "Bos" when we relocated from Maryland to Lake Monticello back in the '80s. I thought it might be fun to practice law in Palmyra, so Bosley kindly took some time to talk about that. Later, he invited my husband and me and our 8 year old to his farm for lunch. I will never forget the sight of Bos, showing this little girl his cows and how to romp in the stacks of hay in the barn. When they finished their mini-tour, he asked her if she had any questions. She had never been up close to a cow before, so she said, "why do your cows still have the price tags on their ears?" Of course, he loved that and we loved him for the generosity he had shown the three of us. So, that's what I remember: A man who honestly and unreservedly shared himself with others and met their needs when he could. I am sorry for your loss, Crowther family. Bosley was one of a kind!
