George "Michael" Robinson

Michael Robinson, 68, of Del Rio, Texas, passed away on June 19, 2023, of cancer.

He was the son of George Andrew Robinson of Greenwood, Va., and Marie Grinstead Shifflett of Crozet.

He was predecease by his father, and grandparents, Norman and Dora Robinson of Greenwood, and Herbert and Lottie Grinstead of Crozet.

He is survived by his mother; his wife, Munire Robinson of Del Rio, Texas; his children, Jason Robinson (Hallie) of Nevada, Melissa Carnahan of Nevada, Andrew Robinson (Kim) of Texas, Dora Upchurch of Texas, Leylla Garza (Ruben) of Texas, Serife Ekmekci and Tugba Ekici of Turkey; grandchildren, Jude, Joaqin, Ezra, Aiden, Vanellope, Niko, Taylor, Paul, and Melissa; sisters, Sandy (Kevin) Ottinger of Stuarts Draft, and Mariah Robinson of Crozet; aunts and uncles, James and Margie Houchins of Crozet, Ronnie Robinson of Charlottesville, and Carolyn and Harry Fisher of Greenwood, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

He was born in Greenwood, Va. He served in the U.S. Air Force until 1991. He spent the rest of his career working in the civil service at Laughlin AFB in Del Rio, Texas. Michael was a avid sci-fi, computer and car nerd. He enjoyed spending time tinkering with computers and cars. He enjoyed going to the flea market to search for new treasures. He was a follower of God and lived everyday for Him. He always had the greatest advice to give and was passionate about helping his family and his friends.

He and Sandy were 11 month apart, growing up even though Michael was older, Sandy was always his protector. In the 70s he spent his Thursday night (babysitting, while mom and dad worked late) eating Mama Celeste pizza and watching Kung Fu, with his youngest sister Mariah.
