John Landgraff Obituary

John Helfred Landgraff Jr., 74, of Louisa, died Saturday, December 9, 2006, at his home.

He was born December 17, 1931, in New Jersey, son of the late John Helfred Sr. and Jane Pruden Landgraff. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Cheryl Rooney; and four brothers.

John was an employee of Camp Friendship, and a veteran of the United States Army.

He is survived by his wife, Frances M. Landgraff of Louisa; two sons, John Helfred Landgraff III of Missouri, and Roy Adam Landgraff and his wife, Patricia, of Bumpass, Virginia; two daughters, Bonnie Lee Barker and her significant other, Gene Gary, of Mineral, Virginia, and Dorothy Mae Batalin and her husband, Alexander, of Texas; one sister, Shirley Crawford of Newton, New Jersey; one son-in-law, John Rooney of Vienna, Virginia; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, December 15, 2006, at the Sheridan Funeral Home Chapel in Kents Store, conducted by the Reverend Bruce Hunter. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery in Louisa.

The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday, December 14, 2006, at the Sheridan Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Lake Anna Volunteer/ Rescue Squad or the Zion Crossroads Fire Department.
