Mary Gibson Obituary

Mrs. Mary Agnes Sprouse Gibson, 95, of Keswick, Virginia went to eternal rest on Monday, June 26, 2006, at the Louisa Healthcare Nursing Home.

Mrs. Gibson was born in Albemarle County on June 1, 1911, the daughter of the late John J. and Fannie Ray Sprouse. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Adam L. Gibson; son, Curtis E. Gibson; a son-in -law, Tommy Simpson; five brothers, one sister, one grandchild and one great -grandchild.

She is survived by a devoted son, Bobby Gibson and his wife, Bernice; two devoted daughters, Shirley G. Collins and her husband, Joseph, of Keswick and Fannie Simpson of Richmond, Virginia; seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild, a daughter-inlaw, Charlotte Gibson of Ruckersville, Virginia; and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was a very special and loving Mom and Grandma who loved to garden and fish. She was an Avon Representative for over 35 years, a homemaker and a member of the Church of God in Ivy, Virginia.

A graveside service will be conducted 11 a.m. Thursday, June 29, 2006, at Holly Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 7 until 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 28, 2006, at Teague Funeral Home.

The family would like to extend special thanks to all staff, nurses and CNAs at the Louisa Healthcare Nursing Home who gave Mom such great care and kindness.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Charlottesville/Albemarle Rescue Squad, P. O. Box 160, Charlottesville, Virginia 22902; or East Rivanna Fire Department, 3501 Steamer Drive, Keswick, VA 22947.
