Jinks Arlington McDaniel Jinks Arlington McDaniel, 91, of Barboursville, Virginia, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 13, 2014. He was born on June 4, 1922, in Greene County, to the late Walter and Anna Cox McDaniel. Mr. McDaniel was a member of Ruckersville Baptist Church for over 60 years and had a special talent for being a self taught rock mason and builder. He enjoyed gardening, doing farm work and singing. He had a very inventive mind and was a creator of many things. His love of people, family and especially God was an inspiration to many and will be truly missed. He was a servant for the Lord and loved to proclaim Jesus Christ through his beautiful light displays. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Olgene McDaniel; his children, Wendell A. McDaniel and his wife, Deborah, and Deborah S. Mundie and her husband, Curtis. Additional survivors include his grandchildren, Brian C. Mundie and his wife, Allison, Danielle Mundie, and Amanda McDaniel; and great- grandchild, Riley Mundie. Special care was given by his nieces, Mildred Johnson, Patricia Shifflett and Joyce McDaniel; his granddaughter, Amanda McDaniel; and his sister-in-law, Oneida Herring. In addition to his parents, those that went to Heaven before him were his great- grandson, Jacob C. Mundie; his brother, Columbus McDaniel; and sisters, Olga Baugher, Bonnie Harlow, Fern Grimes, and Elizabeth Wood. A special thanks to every heart that prayed, all visits and songs sung in praise lifting his spirits and all of his doctors and nurses, especially Dr. Bostic, for their special care and home visits. Also to Mildred Johnson, who was a special angel, that stayed by his side day and night. The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 16, 2014, from 6 until 8 p.m. at Ruckersville Baptist Church, 6 Moore Rd Ruckersville, VA 22968. A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 17, 2014, at 1 p.m. at Ruckersville Baptist Church with the Reverend Kyle Clements and Dr. Charles O'Rourke officiating.
