Paul Michael "Mike" Toms, 80, passed away on Sunday, February 8, 2026 at his home.

He was born on July 17, 1945, the son of the late Lewis William Toms Jr. and Thelma Harding Toms.

Mike retired from the United States Postal Service, where he served as Postmaster for the Nellysford Post Office and was a member of Rodes United Methodist Church in Afton.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Smith.

Survivors include his wife, Linda (Snead) Toms, of 57 years; son, Michael Benjamin Toms of Afton; sister, Rebecca Andrews of Waynesboro; and three grandchildren, William Tyler Toms, Alyssa Kay Toms and Justin Scott Birckhead.

Following cremation, there will be no services.

Those desiring may make memorial contributions to Rodes United Methodist Church, 286 Avon Road, Afton, VA 22920.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes of Waynesboro.

The members and supporters of the Albemarle High School Alumni Association were very sorry to hear about Mr. Toms“ passing. It is always sad to lose a member of the Albemarle family, and we offer our condolences to his family and friends.

Mike and I sat next to each other our junior year and study hall at Albemarle high school. He did a lot of laughing and a little bit of studying so my memories of him from high school are fond. May he rest in peace
