Phyllis Guthrie Obituary
She earned a nursing degree and devoted many years of service to UVA Hospital. A proud veteran, Phyllis also served her country with honor in the United States Navy.
As the last branch of her immediate family tree, Phyllis is survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and cherished friends. Her kindness, wit, humor, love, and laughter will be sorely missed but always remembered.
A Funeral Mass will be held at Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Palmyra on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at 11 a.m. She will be laid to rest at the church cemetery immediately following the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to one of the following organizations close to Phyllis's heart:
Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church.
The Veterans Society.
The SPCA (Animal Welfare).
Hospice of the Piedmont.
