Roberta Carol Bennett

Roberta Carol Bennett, 68, of Gordonsville, died Wednesday, August 31, 2016, at the University of Virginia Medical Center.Born June 19, 1948, she was a daughter of the late Robert Chewning Mitcheltree and Mary Virginia Brooks. She was the wife of the late Gary Lee Bennett and was also preceded in death by brothers- in- law, Robert "Bobby" Hall, and Charles Anderson; and a special friend, James "Woozie" Weaver. She graduated from Orange County High School, Class of 1966. Roberta was retired from the Department of Conservation and Recreation at Lake Anna State Park. She was a member of the Gordonsville Baptist Church and enjoyed traveling and listening to music.She is survived by her sisters, Patricia Hall, and Linda Anderson, both of Gordonsville; a nephew, Jonathan DeVivi of Charlottesville; a great nephew, Max DeVivi; and her beloved pets, Rip and Molly.A graveside service was held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 3, 2016, at Maplewood Cemetery in Gordonsville with Pastor Wayne Collis and Clay Corbin officiating. The family received friends from 6until 8 p.m. on Friday evening, September 2, 2016, at Preddy Funeral Home in Gordonsville.
