Susan Andrews Obituary

Susan Andrews of Charlottesville, 74, daughter of Elizabeth ("Rose") Trevilian Andrews and Bryant Patrick Andrews of Richmond, Virginia, passed away on April 7, 2023, from lung cancer. She was preceded in death by her parents, and is survived by Ron Kilian, her husband of 52 years, her brothers George, John, and Brian, and her sisters Donna Coates and Sandra Laird.

She graduated from Henrico High School in 1968, and from Virginia Commonwealth University with a B.A. in social work in 1972, earning an M.A. in social work there in 1974. She worked for seven years at Western State Hospital.

She worked at Blue Ridge Community College as a trainer and at the Virginia Employment Commission as an employment counselor.

She started Andrews Coaching for business clients in 1990 and continued work for her clients until her passing. The federal Office of Personnel Management was one of her clients.

She enjoyed cross-country skiing and reconnecting with a group of fellow cross-country skiers in Canaan Valley, WV each winter for the last 30 years. She also enjoyed hiking, cycling, snorkeling, sailing, and traveling the country with her husband.

There will be a Celebration of Life gathering and potluck in Susan's memory on Sunday, May 5th, service to begin at 1 pm, at Camp Albemarle. Directions and more information can be found at: https://campalbemarle.org/. RSVP to: [email protected] by Thurs. May 2nd.

Susan Andrews was your best friend, our best friend, and my best friend. The Celebration of Life held today at Camp Albemarle brought together her´s and Crystal´s family and all her life long best friends. She was a unique and cherished person who brightened every room. Thank you for sharing your memories and for allowing us to share ours.
