Thelma C. Crenshaw, 89, of Charlottesville, Va. passed away on April 29, 2022 after living a long and happy life.
Thelma is preceded in death by her parents, John Douglas Critzer and Margaret Rosebud Critzer; her loving partner, Norman "Boy" Grissinger; her beloved son, James Douglas Crenshaw; and her siblings, Janet Tapscott Riley, Elizabeth Ann Deane, and John Wesley Critzer.
Thelma is survived by her granddaughter, Danielle Nicole Crenshaw; her great-granddaughter, Chloe Madison Johnston; her nephew who was more like a son, Richard Mark Charron (Amy); and many more nieces and nephews whom she cared for greatly.
Thelma was born on September 12, 1932 in Batesville, Va. She graduated from Lane High School. Thelma went on to own several different businesses such as Northside Gulf, before becoming an office manager at the law firm formerly known as Feil Pettit & Williams for many years before she retired in 2008.
Thelma was a very active member of the Doe Club with the Elks Lodge #389 for many years. Thelma was also a member of the Rivanna Baptist Church. When Thelma wasn't busy with Doe Club activities she loved to travel and had been all over the United States throughout the years. She also enjoyed every moment with her family and friends that she could as she was a loving Daughter, Sister, Mother, Grandmother, Aunt and friend. She will be greatly missed.
There will be a graveside service at 1 p.m., Friday, May 6, 2022 at Holly Memorial Gardens.

Thelma, was such a help to me during my time as the Doe President in 2001-2003!! I could not have done my job without her help and the late Ann Dawson!! Two great women in heaven NOW!!

So very sorry to hear of Thelma´s passing. She was a sweetheart and loved by many! We were DOE sisters for many years before I became an ELK. Thelma always gave 110% of everything or any project she was assigned or volunteered to do! I was very fortunate to share the same birthday with her. Sending hugs and prayers to all her family especially her granddaughter Danielle Nicole whom she adored! My prayer is that God will hold each of you in the palm of his hand. May your many precious memories comfort you in the days ahead.
