Wever Watters Obituary

Hannah Watters Wever died last Sunday, June 21, 2015 at the age of 42, finally free from the pain that plagued her for the last dozen years. Those who knew Hannah appreciated her keen wit, her snarky sense of humor, her amalgam business ideas, her active mind and her biting sarcasm. Those who didn't know Hannah missed out.She was more comfortable on a horse than just about anywhere else. It was her refuge and sanctuary. She fell in love with horses after moving from England to the Charlottesville area at age 5 and spent the rest of her life riding and training horses, instructing riders, mucking and managing barns. She talked always of her beloved Lumpy. When she could no longer work on farms or in barns, she became a reporter for the Orange County Review. Her charm made her an effective interviewer and she was a gifted and natural writer. She loved covering crime and courts and pursuing untold stories.Hannah enjoyed verbifying words, disturbing fiction, ghost hunting and cracking wise. An email or text message from Hannah was a guaranteed smile. She only half-jokingly said she was becoming the crazy cat lady in her neighborhood. She leaves behind her loving husband, Todd Wever of Gordonsville; her mother, Eve Watters and step-father, Ian Henry, of Crozet; her father, William Watters of Cheshire, UK; and aunt, Ruth Turner of Charlottesville. She was preceded in death by her brother, Heron. In lieu of flowers, do a good deed and tell someone you love them.
