Gertrude Polhemus Obituary
AGE: 88 • Florham Park
Gertrude J. (Walker) Polhemus 88 of Florham Park died peacefully on Monday, October 17, 2016. Born in Jersey City, she was a 50 year resident of East Hanover before moving to Florham Park 8 years ago. A graduate of Blairstown H.S., Tru was employed as a teller for the First National Iron Bank in East Hanover for 20 years prior to her retirement. She is a former member of the Kitchell Memorial Presbyterian Church in East Hanover where she served as a deacon, sessions delegate, choir member and member of the Dorcas Circle. Tru was a devotee of the Arts who enjoyed classical music and attending plays, concerts and the ballet.
She is predeceased by her husband, W. Edward Polhemus who died in 2008, by a brother, Stanley T. Walker and by two sisters, Sally Diehl and Eleanor Babbitt. She is survived by two daughters, Sally Volk of Denville and Trudy Zenerovitz of Vienna, VA, by two sons, Eddie Polhemus of Newport Beach, CA and Jeffrey Polhemus of Freehold and by 11 grandchildren, Ryan and Jason Volk, Brianna Wahl, Alex Zenerovitz, Alivia, Bode, Finn, Devin, Hunter, Grant and Drew Polhemus.
Funeral services will begin 10AM Thursday at Hancliffe Home for Funerals, 222 Ridgedale Ave., East Hanover, NJ 07936 followed by burial at Tranquility Cemetery. Visiting hours are Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9M www.hancliffehomeforfunerals.com

Try was a lovely lady--very kind, considerate and refined. I met her at Wynwood/Brookdale, where my mom also resides, and I liked her instantly. My condolences to her family on the passing of their beloved matriarch. May she Rest In Peace.

My sincere sympathy. I did not know her but knew a Polhemus family in my church in Irvington many years ago..
