John E. Eichelsdoerfer

AGE: 69 • Rockaway Twp.

John E. Eichelsdoerfer passed away at his home in Rockaway Twp., NJ on Friday, Dec. 23, 2011 at the age of 69. Born in Morristown, he had lived in Denville for many years before moving to Rockaway Twp, NJ in 1978. John was in the U.S. Navy from '60-'64 serving on the USS Kearsarge Aircraft Carrier. He worked as a truck driver at various companies and most recently worked for Hiler Trucking in Rockaway Twp, NJ before retiring in 2009. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and boat racer, winning many trophies in NJ and MA.

John is survived by his sister, Catherine Eichelsdoerfer of The Villages, FL; his nieces, Lisa Rutter of Wantage, Mary Jane Kudelin of Lake Hiawatha, NJ, Mary Frances Gillespie of FL, and his nephews, Robert Eichelsdoerfer of Long Valley, NJ, William Eichelsdoerfer of Broadheadsville, PA, Anthony Vullo of Oxford, NJ and William Vullo of VA.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 29, 2011 from 2-4 & 7-9PM at Norman Dean Home for Services, 16 Righter Ave., Denville, NJ 07834. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Friday, Dec. 30, at 10AM. Please light a candle in his memory at: www.normandean.com.

I am sorry to hear of John's passing. I met him in 1979 and had worked with him at Hiler's Trucking on occasion. Great guy loved his sense of humor. My condolences to the family.
