John Shoener Zulick, III

John Shoener Zulick, III of Madison, NJ passed away peacefully surrounded by his children on April 28, 2016 in Morristown New Jersey. John was born in Pottsville, Pennsylvania February 3, 1939 to John Franklin Starr and Mary A. Bechtel. Following the death of Mary, John was adopted by Arthur Lucian and Margaret Susan Starr Zulick. John attended Mercersburg Academy (1957), Dartmouth College (1961) and received his Masters of Architecture at University of Pennsylvania in 1966. He married Carolyn Keusch Zulick in 1960. They were blessed with 4 children. John served as a First Lieutenant in the United States Army. He worked as an Architect and took pride in his Architectural firm. John was an avid coin collector and a member of the American Numismatic Association. John had a passion for singing and sang with the Dartmouth Glee Club from 1957-61. A highlight of his singing career was singing with the Rockets at Rockefeller Center.

John is preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Margaret Zulick, John and Mary Starr, his sister's Betty Reuter and Cynthia Fleming and his wife, Carolyn. He is survived by his sisters, Jean (Belton) Braswell, (Statesboro, GA), Isabel Rhoads, Orwigsburg, PA, Margaret Morey (Brock)of (Acworth, GA) 4 children, Elizabeth Carmichael (Michael) of Oro Valley AZ, Cynthia Zulick of Toms River, NJ, John Zulick (Janell) of North Brunswick, NJ, Cari Tierney (Michael) of Madison, NJ and 9 grandchildren, Sidney, Nicholas, Grace, Jenna, Jackson, Megan, Joshua, Christopher and Matthew.

A Funeral Service for John will be held today, May 3, 2016, at 10:30am at Burroughs, Kohr & Dangler Funeral Home, 106 Main Street, Madison. John will be put to rest on a later date at the family plot in Orwigsburg, Pennsylvania. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to www.nami.org or 1-888-999-6264.
