Michael Pinter, 87, of Newfoundland, passed away at his home on Monday, December 3, 2012. Mr. Pinter was born in Gyor, Hungary to Iren (Csaplar) and Ferenc Pinter in 1925. Mr. Pinter was a survivor of Russian persecution after World War II in what was once Stalingrad. He married Julianna (Paulovits) in 1954 and together they raised their three sons Frank, Michael, and Stephen in Elmwood Park, NJ. Mr. Pinter was a baker, as well as the owner of the Marlboro Inn Bake Shop in Montclair, NJ and was also a proud member of St. Stephens RC Church in Passaic, NJ. He will best be remembered for his love of family, baking, cooking, gardening, and traveling.

Mr. Pinter was predeceased by his siblings Iren, Magda, Istvan, Ferenc, Mariska and Irma. He is survived by his beloved wife Julianna of 58 years; his three dear sons Frank Pinter and his wife Laura of Shelton, WA, Michael Pinter and his wife Liz of Green Pond, NJ, and Stephen Pinter of Alamogorda, NM; his cherished grandchildren Michelle, Vanessa, Madison, Ella, and Michael V. Pinter, and one great grandchild Savannah Pavlick. He also leaves behind his loving nieces Maggie Peterfy and her husband Tom, Yolan Palasty and her husband Charles, Irma Kish and her husband Istvan, and Eva Sanders; his loving nephews Ferenc Kovacs, of Boglarlelle, Hungary, and Stephen Polak, of Nyack, NY., as well as his wife Julianna's cousins the Paulovits family Imre, Bela, Agnes, Eva, and Laszlo.

The family will receive visitors on Friday, December 7, 2012 from 3pm to 5pm and 7pm to 9pm at the Stickle-Soltesz Funeral Home, 187 LaRue Road, Newfoundland, NJ 07435. (For GPS use 1 Post Place, Newfoundland, NJ. 07435). The funeral mass will be held on Saturday, December 8, 2012 at 10am at St. Stephens RC Church, 223 Third Street, Passaic, NJ 07055.
