Peter Hedges Obituary
Long Valley - Peter Hedges of Long Valley died Sunday, July 1, 2018 at Morristown Medical Center after a short, courageous battle with cancer. He was a talented craftsman, a loving brother and uncle, and a beautiful person.
Peter was born December 5, 1950 to William and Margaret Hedges at Overlook Hospital in Summit, NJ and grew up in Madison, NJ. He graduated from Madison High School and attended Shenandoah University in Winchester, VA. Peter worked as a machinist in Emporia, KS and Wilmington, NC prior to pursuing his dream in Christiansted, St. Croix. He could take on most any job and solve any problem that came up. He loved the beaches of southern North Carolina where he spent many a day fishing, crabbing and hunting for the best barbeque and hush puppy joint he could find. He most recently owned and operated Hedges Home Repairs of Schooley's Mountain.
He was predeceased by his parents and leaves two brothers, Bob of Montville, NJ and Jim of Milford, PA and a sister, Patty Talpey of Westbrook, CT. He was deeply loved by his family and will be missed very much by each one of his twenty-five nephews, nieces, grand-nephews and grand-nieces.
A visitation and memorial service will take place at Burroughs, Kohr and Dangler funeral home 106 Main St, Madison, NJ on Friday July 27, 2018 from 6-8pm, followed at a later date by a private burial. The family would especially like to thank the staffs at Morristown Medical Center and MD Anderson Cancer Center for their caring and professionalism.

So sad and sorry for your loss. Peter always had a special place in my fourteen year old heart! Very fortunate to know Hedges'. Peter was a great person. Words never seem enough; but I am thinking of all of you with love.
