Richard Reder

Blairstown - Richard Reder, 77 years of age, a resident of Blairstown, NJ for over 17 years, and previously from Chester, NJ, passed away on January 18, 2018 in Fredon, NJ. He was born on May 29, 1940 in Orange, NJ to the late Harry and Margaret Reder. He was a self-employed contractor.

He is survived by his wife Gail (Stuart) Reder, two sons Todd and Jeffrey Reder, a daughter Michele Seltzer, 4 grandchildren, Rich, Steven, Julia, Dylan and a sister Margaret "Peggy" Hermes.

A memorial visitation will take place from 5 -8 PM, Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at Newbaker Funeral Home, 200 Route 94, Blairstown, NJ 07825.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Richard's memory to the Alzheimer's Association, 400 Morris Avenue, Suite 251, Denville, NJ 07834.

I'm so sorry to hear about the passing of Mr. Reder. I have many fond memories of him from all the time I spent at your house during my childhood. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

Gail,
We are so sorry to hear of the passing of Rich. His positive influence upon me will never be forgotten as Rich consistently showed genuine concern and interest in the lives of those around him. I will always remember: his eye contact was warm and welcoming, his responses were mindful, humorous, and impactful... He will be missed.
