Sheron Rogers Obituary

Sheron Rogers
Sheron Rogers lost her battle with dementia on March 21, 2021. She was born on February 5, 1947 in Ellensburg, Washington to Orville and Ruth (Miller) Morrison. One of four daughters, Sheron spent her youth in Ellensburg, graduating from Ellensburg High School in 1965 and marrying Galen Rogers the next year. Together they raised two children, Garret Rogers, who resides in Marysville, Washington and Gway (Rogers) Kirchner, who now lives in Toledo, Oregon.
Sheron worked at a number of businesses around town, including Ellensburg Floral, Platt's Papermill, and owned her own clothing store, Fashion Crossroads. She was able to show her artistic abilities by decorating the stores and her own home for every holiday and special occasion. In later years, she worked at JC Penny's, retiring in early 2000's. She could often be found enjoying coffee and a muffin with friends and family at the Copper Kettle or Perkins.
Sheron suffered a number of strokes, including a debilitating one in 2004. While she was no longer able to do many of the things she liked, she never lost her unique way with words. She was able to reside at home with her husband for many years, continuing to enjoy life in Ellensburg under his care. She raised a number of pets- cats, dogs, horses, and cattle. Her most favorite was a rottweiler named Tulip, who she and Galen rescued as a puppy from a terrible home. Sheron moved to Oregon in 2018 to be close to her daughter and granddaughters. Her greatest joy was being a mom and grandma.
Sheron was preceded in death by her parents Orville and Ruth (Miller) Morrison, and is survived by her husband Galen Rogers, son Garret Rogers, daughter Gway (Rogers) Kirchner, son-in-law Jason Kirchner, and granddaughters M'Kenzie and Briahna Kirchner. She is also survived by her three sisters Carol Morrison, Linda Rumble (Bill Rumble), Marsha West, and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Services are planned for early summer.
