Dean Thom Obituary
Dean was born on March 16, 1959, in Watertown, WI, the son of Earl and Doris (Gaugert) Thom. He graduated from Jefferson High School in 1977 and married Gina Granado on December 22, 2007, in Rome. The couple have 5 children total and counted each as their own. Dean was employed at numerous area companies but has worked for the Town of Sullivan for nearly 20 years. Although he did whatever was needed, he was most recently the Director of the newly combined Wastewater Management Plant. Dean was a helper! He helped anyone at any time. His family loved the fact that he was just a phone call away, no matter the situation. Attending his children's and grandchildren's events is where he wanted to be. He was a volunteer fireman with the Rome and Sullivan Fire Departments, serving for over 30 years. He was a longtime member of St. Peter's Ev. Lutheran Church of Helenville and will be dearly missed.
Dean is survived by: his mother, Doris Thom of Jefferson; wife, Gina Granado of Helenville; children Brandon (Rachel) Thom of Jefferson, Justin (Katelyn) Thom of Whitewater, Marina (Jason McLaughlin) Granado of Helenville, Brianna Sutton of Jefferson, and Savanah Thom of Helenville; 10 grandchildren MacKenzie, Aidan, Cameron, Brynn, KealyAnn, Jahson, Jahzel, Raelyn, Aspen, and Memphis; his brothers Dennis (Kathy) Thom of Pardeeville, Dale Thom of Jefferson, and Darrel Thom of Watertown. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his father Earl Thom.
A Christian funeral service will be held at 11:00AM on Friday, September 1, 2023, at St. Peter's Ev. Lutheran Church of Helenville with Rev. Titus Buelow presiding. Visitation will be on Friday from 9:00AM until the time of service at the church.
