Ronald Paul Hidalgo

OPELOUSAS - A Mass of Christian Burial for Ronald Paul Hidalgo, age 79, will be at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 4, 2011 in the Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Opelousas, La., followed by interment in the Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery. The Reverend Paul Bienvenu will conduct the mass.

Mr. Hidalgo, who was a resident of Opelousas, La., died on Tuesday, August 2, 2011, at Prompt Succor Nursing Home.

He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Survivors include his former wife, Aline V. Hidalgo, of Opelousas, La.; his son, Kenneth Paul Hidalgo of Pecaniere, La.; his daughter, Deborah Ann Hidalgo Oliver and husband, Joe, of Opelousas, La.; his brother, Joseph Oren Hidalgo of Texas; his sisters, Nelma Fontenot of Mississippi; Loraine Soileau and Wanda Brown both of Opelousas, La.; Betty Deville and Elsie Soileau both of Baton Rouge, La. He is also survived by 2 grandchildren, Lacie Olivier Sylvester and husband, Scott, of Grand Prairie, La. and Skylar Jude Olivier of Opelousas, La.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert Hidalgo, Sr. and Eve Lagrange Hidalgo.

Visiting hours will be observed in the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas, beginning on Wednesday, August 10, 2011 from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and will reopen on Thursday at 8:00 a.m. until service. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
