William H. Thomas

William H Thomas, a resident of Stamford, died on Sunday, March 30 in Stamford Born April 22, 1949 in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of the late Leonard and Doreen (Meredith) Thomas He was 64

Mr Thomas received an associate's degree from the College of Staten Island, Staten Island, NY and a bachelor's degree from Brooklyn College, Brooklyn, NY He was director of compliance for fixed income trading and institutional sales with Merrill Lynch and Co, Inc He was also senior vice president of counter-party risk management, a member of the Securities Industry Association institutional sales profession ethics committee, bond market association advisory group in education and vice-chairman of the securities industry regulatory council on continuing education

He served with the US Navy during Vietnam as a radioman seaman with the Mobile Riverine Force from 1968 to 1969 for which he received the Purple Heart

He was president of Lake of the Pine Water Co in East Stroudsburg, Pa

He is survived by his two children, Meredith Thomas of Stamford and Matthew Thomas of Norwalk and one grandchild, George Tzirkidis Thomas He is also survived by his former wife, Barbara Thomas, a brother David Thomas and a sister, Ann Connors

A funeral service will be held on Monday, April 7 at 10 at the Edward Lawrence Funeral Home, 2119 Post Road, Darien Burial will follow at Spring Grove Cemetery, Darien with full military honors
