News Death Notice

ROBERTS, Kathleen Joe age 56, of Mooresburg, TN went to heaven on November 13, 2012 due to a long courageous struggle from an automobile accident. She was born on December 4, 1955 in Columbus, Ohio to John and Evelyn (Koons) Dinnen. Kathleen graduated from Shawnee High School in 1974. Kathleen took several college classes and specialized training courses related to her employment. Kathleen had retired from the National Air and Space Intelligence Center at Wright Patterson AFB, Ohio in July 2004. She had worked in Russian translation and later as a secretary and intelligence aid. She was very active in the organization at work. She was involved in a serious car accident in November, 2004. She survived over seventy surgeries and extreme pain and suffering for almost eight years. She previously resided in Springfield, OH until 2008. She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Morristown, TN. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Evelyn Dinnen; brothers, John E. Dinnen, Jr. and Howard W. Dinnen. Kathleen is survived by her loving and dedicated husband, Gerald Roberts, who never left her side. Kathleen is also survived by her children, Matthew (Rebecca) Shipley of Forney, TX, Sunshine (Greg) Cook of Springfield, OH, and Jeff Roberts of Rutledge, TN, Kristin (Jason) Mills of Germantown, OH. She is survived by her grandchildren, which were her pride and joy, Kevin Mullins, McKenzie Cook, Jackson and Elliot Shipley, and Andrew and Justin Mills. She is also survived by her brothers; Jim (Mary) Smith of Urbana, OH, Dale (Tammy) Smith of Orlando, FL; a nephew, several nieces and many cousins. A funeral mass will be held Saturday, November 17, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Morristown with Rev. Joseph Hammond officiating. The family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m. prior to the mass. Interment will follow at the Tri-City Cemetery in Blountville, TN. Arrangements by Stetzer Funeral Home, Morristown, TN.
