Benji Took Me Out To Dinner For Fathers Day With His Brother Duke & His Nephew Logan. When We Left He Gave Us A Hug & Told Us That He Loved Us. That Was The Last Time We Saw Him.

Benji Was A Good Warm Hearted Person.

I Was Proud To Be His Father.

He Always Shined In Whatever He Choose To Do!

He Was His Own Man.

He Worked Hard & He Played Hard.

He Cared About His Family & Other People. He Had A Lot Of Friends Wherever He Would Go.

I Feel Sad That He Never Got To Have His Own Family & Children.

He Would Have Been A Wonderful Father.

He Lived With Me For About Four Months When He First Came Back From Colorado.

He Was There For Me When I Went Into The Hospital.

When My Grandson Logan Came Over To My House On Sundays He Would Always Find The Time To Hang Out With Us.

He Always Found The Time To Go & See His Mother & His Brother Duke.

He Always Found The Time To Be With His Friends.

My Son Benji Was A Great Person & He Will Be Missed A Lot.

We Have A Memorial Website For Benji To Make Sure That He Is Never Forgotten. Never!

We Are Carrying On His Tradition Of Wanting To Care About & Help Others In His Memory & Honor.

Thank You So Much For Caring ABout Our Son Benji & His Family.

Benji,
It seems almost impossible to put into words, how we (Duke, Jake, Logan & I) felt about you & how much you meant to our family. It seems right now that a 1000 years of crying could not end our grief and pain. Benji, you meant everything to us. You were so good to your brother, me and your nephews. I will never forget all the time you spent with Jake and Logan. Nobody could or ever will take your place. The hole in our lives is so great, sometimes it hurts to breath. I know we will see you again though, and that is the one thing that gives us comfort. I pray for you daily. We love you more than life itself.

I played basketball with Benji for nine years and had the pleasure of watching him grow from a role player into a star. I think everyone can agree that Benji did not have the prettiest shot, but man was it effective. Benji and I won a lot of games with each other, but one in particular sticks out. In fact it was our last victory. Playing in the district final against Cincinnati Wyoming at UD Arena, Benji hit a three-pointer less than 10 seconds into the second overtime. We never trailed again and won. In fact, he scored five of our six points in the extra period. I remember years later being called the best player on our team by another alumn. Five seconds later he turned back around and said "except for Benji." That's a backseat I will gladly take.

Hello,

I have not had contact with Benji in over 10 years and recently he appeared in a dream I had creating a desire for me to contact him after so long.

The news I received of his passing was certainly unexpected, as I had nearly forgotten him until the dream.

There are higher powers amongst us working in mysterious ways, and the dream I had is far more significant than I preveiously knew.

I am certain he is in a safe place and my memories of the times I spent with him during my highschool days will never again fade.

Your family is in my heart and prayers.

Here's to you, Benji, thanks for visiting me in my dream recently.

~LOVE~

I grew up with Benji in Bellbrook and ran into him in October for the first time since we graduated in 1994. 12 years later, we were shocked to see how much we'd changed and yet how much we remained the same. He beamed the biggest smile that I will always remember as the "Benji grin". We caught up as much as we could about what we'd been doing all this time and Benji spoke of his living in Colorado. When I asked him what brought him back to Dayton, he said he missed being around his family. I know he loves you all very much! It was really great to talk with him. Peace be with you my friend, and to your family....my deepest deepest sympathy. Laura Edgar

All the love in the world. For the people who loved Ben and don't know us in Colorado. It's Bobby again. One of the two pics submitted is of his friends in Ft. Collins. Tiffany and I, the two people from Colorado to sign, are on the left of the first picture. We are still together and love each other more than anything, Benji was the biggest part of that. He always told us we were perfect together. Thank you Benji, you were right. We can't wait to snowboard with you again on those perfect mountains in the sky!

June 27, 2006

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man."

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

Cathy, Bill and Duke,

I was both shocked and saddened to hear about the loss of Benji. My mom and I were on vacation when we received the news, and since then we have been reminiscing about all of our camping trips, 4th of July parties, babysitting adventures, etc. My mom will never forget the day that she came over to see Benji when you brought him home from the hospital (and some of the funny comments from his big brother Dukey). Our families had so many good times growing up together and I will never forget his wonderful melting smile. I can't beleive I have lost (2) such special people in my life within the last year, but I know that he and Cristi will find each other in heaven. It makes me feel better to know that they can take care of one another and keep an eye out for all of us.

I love you with all my heart,

Barbara Wright

Benji, as he was known by all of us who love him in Colorado, will be missed. I met him through Sean Loss, who worked with me soon after they came to Ft. Collins. He quickly became a friend, and later on, a best friend who I spent most of my time with and looked up to. he looked out for and loved his friends. If we needed money, he put us right to work, if we needed a place to stay, he welcomed us with open arms and made us more comfortable then he was. Even if it took from his own pocket or his paycheck was gone because he paid us for work that he didn't need from us, he did it so we would stay a float and/or keep our goals and dreams still in reach. When I was down on my luck, he put me to work, but, always reminded me that I was smarter, work hard and needed to follow the goals I had set ahead and had almost given up on. I have been doing what I love ever since. he made sure that none of us was left out in the cold. Benji worked hard and took pride in himself and what he had accomplished. He made sure that the people cared about did the same, he was more than pissed if we took ourselves for less. He protected his friends against everything, even people who he knew better. I LOVED HIM FROM MY HEART LIKE A BROTHER and, told him multiple times, including the last time I talked to him. He always said that he would be back and, when he moved and I gave him a hug, it wasn't the last time I would see him. That was a little over a year ago, and I wish i would've got to see his smile again. He was loved and touched as many hearts here as he did any town, city, county he stepped foot in. he is in our hearts and memories. Benji, I/we miss you, love you and can't wait to see you again. P.S. we have pictures of the good times we spent with Ben in Colorado and will post them ASAP. My/our hearts are with his family, he was a great person and I'm sure he came from the best people.
