I am saddened at the death of my life long friend. I have many memories of our playing under Aunt Sue's house to being baptized at Friendship Church ,to sandlot and high school football ,to enrolling Dickey at Southern University to play college football. He never reported to Southern but went on to work as a carpenter. (There was another carpenter who did His own thing, too). I only saw him twice since 1963 but I have a ton of memories. And, I just know that his name is written in the Book of Remembrance. See you later, Dickey

Being a Haynesville graduate makes me feel a kinship to anyone from there. I don't remember him but I would think he is related to Ura Dell. Not sure of spelling. My prayers are with the family and friends. Love

To: The Family of Clyde "Dickey Boy" Applewhite
The Carter G. Woodson High School Class of 1964 and the Haynesville-Woodson Alumni are sadden to learn of the death of Dickey Boy.
When you are wrung out and empty of all but heartache, God asks that you allow Him to fill the emptiness with his strength.
"The Lord will be the hope of his people." JOEL 3:16 KJV

To Clyde's Family,
Peace be with your family, friends, and associates.
Clyde was a good friend and a great carpenter!
I can see him on a peaceful and beautiful lake fishing!
I can imagine him saying to us, "Don't worry about a thing because every little thing is going to be alright, if you work hard and treat people right!"
Words of encouragement:
The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures:
he leadeth me beside the still waters.
He restoreth my soul:
he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil: for thou art with me;
thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies:
thou anointest my head with oil;
my cup runneth over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life:
and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.
Rest in peace, Clyde!
