HENKENER, Dale L. age 72 of Miami Twp. passed away Monday Jan 5, 2009 at Hospice of Dayton. He was born in Sidney, Ohio to Kermit & Beryl (Miller) Henkener on April 4, 1936. He was preceded in death by his parents & son Brad. He is survived by his wife of 50 years Darlene (Yahl), son Matthew (Shelley), sister Jane Stewart, aunts Ruth Kettler & Rhetta Riggs & many cousins & a host of friends. A graduate of New Knoxville, Ohio he served in the US Air Force. He came to Dayton to work as a contractor for 20 yrs. He retired after 22 yrs as a realtor/auctioneer at Big Hill/GMAC Real Estate. Member of Alpha Lodge #729, Scottish Rite Valley of Dayton & active member of Antioch Shrine having served as a Potentate in 2003. He was former director of the Bobbies, Trustee of Antioch Foundation, member of Clan #91, El Ameen & other Shrine Clubs, Bellbrook Optomist, served on the zoning board of Spring Valley Twp., the FOE & Aerie #321. Family will receive friends Friday Jan 9, 2009 from 4-8 PM with Alpha Lodge services at 7:30 PM, funeral services Saturday at 10 AM all being held at Schlientz & Moore Funeral Home 820 Miamisburg-Centerville Rd., Rev. Ed Smith officiating with Burial to follow at Bellbrook Cemetery. Donations may be made in lieu of flowers to Antioch Foundation or Shriners Hospitals for Crippled Children in Dale's memory.
