It is good to be reminded of this faithful man of God. We, personally are blessed as we review what Dave meant to us. He was a great example of a faithful father, husband, servant, friend and life example. This time of memory gives glory to God, and blessing to those fortunate enough to have known him.
Thank you Carolyn for your part is making him who he was.

Dear Aunt Carolyn,
Our hearts are missing uncle Dave with you. He was always a joy to be with. I found such warmth in his tall and lanky embrace. That was one of my favorite things about visiting you guys, was getting that hug from you and uncle Dave. I will miss the hugs and the huge bowls of soft serve ice cream that we enjoyed at the chinese buffet. I will miss his beautiful sense of humor and contagious smile. Being in the same room with him was an encouragement in it's self.
You got to spend your life with an amazing man and I can't imagine how it will be to carry on without him. Our prayers are with you, aunt Carolyn, and our Lord is ever near to you. We look forward to seeing you again the next time we swing through Ohio and seeing uncle Dave when we meet our Lord in glory.
God bless

You and Dave have meant so much to us since I first went to Cedarville. You've sure been storing a lot of treasure in heaven! We're praying that God will send you many blessings and comforts now. Let us know if there is anything we can do.

Dear Aunt Carolyn,
I miss you and I wish I could be there in person during this time. I pray that God's grace will be increasingly real during this time when you are saying "until we meet again" to your beloved husband. May you rejoice daily in the hope of eternity, for Christ has conquered the grave.
Love,
Eliane

Dear Carolyn and family. My thoughts and prayers are with you. My most happy times as organist were at Spinning Road. I loved the piano-organ duets we played and all the hymns Dave led. I remember each Easter when we sang He Lives, after the last verse, Dave would go back to the chorus and when he sang HE LIVES in my heart, he would be on his toes. My Prayer is that we may all be together in Heaven
and Praise God wih music. I love you Carolyn. Bill Lauver

Carolyn, Laura, Molly, and families,
We can only imagine the Joy Dave is feeling right now. Such a comfort knowing that we all will be with our Heavenly Father and what a day that will be. I was a young girl when I met Dave. He was an important role mode for me. I loved our talks and I am glad that he knew how much He meant to me. I have so many wonderful memories of his generosity, and his huge heart that he shared with so many. Thank you all for sharing a Great Man with us all! Love to you All ~ Debbie

Dear Carolyn and family, I am so sad about David's passing. He, along with you, was so kind to me, not only as his secretary, but as a friend. I've said it before, and I'll say it again....He was the greatest boss ever. My thoughts are with you. Donna Rhoads

I have missed Dave's hugs as I was leaving church over the past months...can't wait to see him again in heaven and get more of those great hugs! Levi will miss "tall guy" too. Dave really knew how to lead us in song, and I loved when he was really into a hymn and would add in an extra long note or a repeat of the chorus--Dave would really get us into it. I am very sorry that I won't be back in town in time for Dave's service/memorial, but I will be praying daily for the family. Carolyn, I am sending you (((hugs))).

I will miss Dave leading our singing each Sunday in church, but most of all I will miss the handshake and hugs as we left the church. He always reminded me of my brother-in-law who did the same thing at his church in Phila. for 30 yrs.
We will all meet again some day in our home up above.
Love, Betty

Carolyn, Laura & Molly,
It is with great sadness that I learn of Dave's passing. I am speechless. For those that know me, I am not speechless often. Dave was 1 of the most caring people I have had the pleasure of knowing. I remember when we used to go on winter hikes and Dave would be riding in John Newell's subaru. So many great memories to choose from. But Dave is in Heaven now, walking with Jesus. My thoughts and prayers are with you and the family.

I am so glad that I had the opportunity to know David. There are many at Spinning Road Baptist Church who knew him for a much longer time and he will be truly missed by all of us. He always had a warm smile and kind word to say as he held the door for you every Sunday, and how we have missed him leading us as we sing the Hymns. I imagine him in Heaven standing in front of the Angels leading them as they sing praises to our Lord.
Carolyn, you and your family are in our prayers. Our sense of loss is surely miniscule compared to yours but your faith is strong and I know that the Holy Spirit will help you during this time.

Dear Carolyn and Family,
I aws very saddened to hear of David's death. I shall always value the years we worked together. It has been many years since our last contact, but I can remember many of the good times we shared. I specifically remember an office outing at a small lake, when David zipped me across that lake on his Hoby Cat. A unique experience! My sincere sympathies to you and your famiily.

Dear Carolyn, Laura and Molly,
You have commited into the arms of Jesus your dear husband, and father, as well as our good friend. These relationshps will be perfected when we join Dave at the foot of the Cross. So many memories of an open heart and a loving, caring spirit.
Being with Dave was a time of laughter, encouragement, and awareness of a deep relaitonship with the Lord. We will miss these blessings from him when we visit again.
"Those the LORD has rescued will return.
They will enter Zion with singing;
everlasting joy will crown their heads.
Gladness and joy will overtake them,
and sorrow and sighing will flee away."
Isaiah 51:11
May the Spirit minister to you all as you heal together in the days ahead.
